informal care
for you
REPLACEMENT CARE (RESPITE CARE)
If you wait for informal caregivers to ask for help, you are often too late. It's all about providing timely support to the informal caregiver. What do you need as an informal caregiver to do the things you want to do? Because if an informal caregiver can continue to do things that give you energy, you will be able to 'care for' longer. Respite care is therefore preventive and not crisis care. We would like to point out various forms of alternative care.
OWN TIME
Own Time... Just relax, a moment for yourself, with a cup of coffee, with other informal caregivers. You often recognize each other, we talk or do something fun together. We meet with informal caregivers at various places in the city (in Almere Buiten, Haven & Stad), under the guidance of a consultant. Come visit us sometime!
The person you care for can also come along. He/she will be well taken care of by one of our employees. It can also be a moment of meeting and relaxation with others for him/her.
Eigen Tijd is an initiative of VMCA, De Schoor and Zorggroep Almere in collaboration with neighborhood teams.

Hero in the house
If you have a serious, chronic and/or life-threatening illness, such as cancer MS, ALS or NAH (non-congenital brain injury), you will experience loss of physical, psychological or social skills. The disease has a major impact on life. A volunteer, a buddy, can provide a listening ear. Within Held in Huis, volunteers are deployed to relieve informal caregivers and, where necessary, volunteers supplement informal care. Volunteers provide informal respite care. Volunteers also provide practical and emotional support to people with chronic and/or life-threatening conditions. In this way they contribute to supporting the self-reliance of those seeking help, so that they can function as best as possible in their own environment.
Make time for yourself, that gives more balance
Saar at home
Saar aan Huis offers additional informal care to the elderly, including dementia. Our Saars support you not only at home, but also in residential care centers and nursing homes. Your wishes come first. This way you keep control. You can continue to live in your own environment for longer in a pleasant way.
Saar aan Huis also offers support to overburdened informal caregivers. Family and friends are happy to help, but sometimes live far away or have busy lives themselves. Our Saars can then help. Saar aan Huis has branches throughout the Netherlands. There is always one near you.
"Keeping all the balls in the air sometimes exhausts me, but being able to hand over the care to someone else sometimes helps me keep it going."
