For the Stichting de Open Kring, we are looking for supervisors for the catechesis evenings. We give a catechesis evening to people with an intellectual disability every other week. (17 evenings in the year from September to May.) We also go to church in Almere-Haven with these clients on Palm Sunday. For the start in September, we also plan a nice outing for these clients on a Saturday. Our objective The foundation wants to provide spiritual education and guidance for people with an intellectual disability. We are inspired by an ecumenical Christian philosophy of life, we want to be there for everyone, regardless of his or her beliefs. What do we do on the catechesis evenings? The coffee and tea are ready. Everyone finds a place in the circle. First we tell each other how we are doing. A candle is lit for everyone. We sing songs and listen to a story from the Bible. We talk about the story with each other. Sometimes we do something with the story: a play, a drawing, a new song. Then the hour is usually over. When the candles have been blown out, everyone goes home again. What we do not do · Force a certain philosophy of life on someone · Discriminate or judge someone's philosophy of life · Explicitly do missionary work and/or evangelize. We are not looking for conversions. Day & Time 17 Monday evenings from September to May. 1 Sunday with Palm Sunday 1 Saturday a nice outing Special features This foundation was once founded by parents of clients of Triade Vitree. This is because clients who grew up Christian at home need this. The group that needs to be supervised is now 12 people and consists of people of different ages. The evening lasts 1 hour, but we are dependent on taxi transport, so this can take up to 2 hours. Sometimes it is difficult to make effective contact, how do you actually do this? How do you make contact based on your own norms and values? These are issues that we work on in groups during the Coach&Approach process. The program focuses on personal development. We practice coaching using theory and different working methods. Coaching yourself, but also coaching someone else. We consider different communication styles and translate these into qualities that can help you communicate from within yourself. We provide tools with which participants learn to deal with negative thoughts and learn to reflect on themselves. Coach&approach is a program in which participants can work in an accessible manner both as a participant and as a volunteer, to learn to coach themselves, but also to learn to adopt an open and coaching attitude as a volunteer. Coach&Approach is aimed at loneliness and intended for young adults between 18 and 30 years old. It is a two-part process that consists of 7 group meetings (with 6 to 10 participants) and a subsequent individual follow-up process in which the participants use their practiced skills. Interested?
